Teakholz hat ein gelbliches, geradfaseriges Kernholz und einen weißlichen bis gelblich-braunen Splint. Wenn es nicht gepflegt wird, bekommt es eine schöne silbergraue Patina, besonders wenn es dem Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt ist. Um seine ursprüngliche Farbe zu erhalten, muss es regelmäßig geölt oder versiegelt werden.
