Depth is the detail that sets The Sunken Forest Mirror apart. Instead of sitting flat against the frame, the mirror glass rests inside a dark grass border, creating a recessed centre that pulls the eye inward.
The black grass gives the round frame a dramatic texture, while the glass keeps the piece functional for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms, or console walls. Its shadowed centre and layered edge make it feel more dimensional than a standard wall mirror, adding contrast without needing a busy pattern.
Grass, wood, and glass each behave differently over time, so small shifts in fibre direction, surface texture, and finish may appear from piece to piece. Keep the grass frame clean with a soft brush or dry cloth, wipe the glass carefully, and avoid excess moisture, harsh cleaners, direct heat, and prolonged sunlight.
To help the grass frame reach the fuller look shown in our images, the fibres may need to be softened with steam or shaped gently by hand during setup. This is considered a normal part of preparing the product, allowing the material to settle into its intended texture and movement.
