Stoneware is stronger than average pottery and has a more robust and rugged look. It is made of clay with a fine grain.

Stoneware is dishwasher safe BUT handwashing is recommended to preserve the original appearance.
You can use warm water and soap. Also make sure that the stoneware does not stay wet for too long. It will otherwise soak into the stone causing the quality to deteriorate.
